My husband liked this mug and had mentioned her wanted it for Fathers Day. Now, I'm typically up for a cute personalized gift, but I'm even more so up to a challenge of doing it myself. I didn't really like that you couldn't pick more than one head for the little girls- plus neither of them looked like me kids. So, we went to Michaels with a 50% off coupon and bought the Creatology mug for $1.07. I know it's a little smaller than the one pictured, but he doesn't drink as much coffee as I do :)

Using the Sharpie on ceramic technique:

We were set! I wrote on it with the saying " 2 reasons I love being a DAD" onto the mug (thankfully if you mess up you can just SOS pad the mistakes off!) Then I drew 2 heads and with colored sharpies let the girls finish coloring in their faces.

We baked it for 30 minutes in the oven (350 or 325) The only problem we ran into is the yellow came off because we had originally used a generic Sharpie. So we had to re apply the yellow in real sharpie and bake it a second time.

EDITED: After washing it and drying it, the sharpie is coming off!!! Super sad that this is not working. We'll have to paint it on and re-bake it :(

Our Disney Princess days are over. It's a bitter sweet end to the girls  being "little"  Now we are into super heros- which is cool by me because I've always been a fan. I saw these on pintrest and had the felt on hand and decided to quickly whip them up. I started by measuring the felt around her wrist, then with a fondant start cutter I traced the red fabric and sewed them onto the head band and wrist guards. I took some Velcro and sewed that to the ends of the wrist guards to keep them on.The head band is actually just half and then elastic around the back to make it stay.

I even made some for her Elizabeth doll. The crowns tip is a little big and since the photo has been cut down slightly. I also didn't have enough yellow felt to double the thickness or enough red thread to add trim. It would have looked even better. Either way she loves it.

So, my anniversary was yesterday- eight years in the making! I've been watching a lot of How I Met Your Mother and  when I saw this card on Etsy I thought it was funny. However $5 for a printed on card stock card. I can do that myself. And I did. We don't do an awful lot for our anniversary, just dinner and I typically make just a plain iced cake. We are not into very sweet and so we don't really add all the decorations, etc..

Waffles

2 cups All-purpose Flour
½ cups Sugar
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
½ teaspoons Baking Soda
½ teaspoons Salt
Pinch Of Cinnamon
2 cups Whole Milk
½ cups Butter, Melted
1-½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
2  Large Eggs, Beaten

Directions:
Add ingredients together. Mix until fully incorporated. Cook in  waffle iron on both sides until they are crisp to your liking.

Verdict: I think my waffle iron needs to go to appliance heaven.  The waffle better was very liquidy.. I added some more flour- no go. The waffles were cooked on the outside and not on the inside Again, that could have been the iron. I'm just saying it might work and taste good if yours works.
