Chewy Oatmeal M&M Cookies
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 and 2/3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup mini M&Ms
Directions:
Combine butter and sugars until they are a creamy texture. Add the egg and vanilla and mix well.
Next, add the baking soda, cinnamon, oats, and flour. Mix together until just combined. The original blogger made sure to note not to over mix. Chill the dough for at least one hour in the fridge.

Preheat oven to 325F degrees.
drop dough onto an ungreased baking sheet or lined baking sheet. Bake for 10-11 minutes and let cool on baking sheet for a few minutes, then move to a cooling rack. they really did look under done on top, but the bottoms were a nice brown color.

Verdict: It was unanimous. no one liked them. Surprising, we know. They had that weird "we have rains-but there are no raisins taste" and I would have preferred to have raisins in them. They had a kind of funky taste and I'm not sure what it was or what went wrong. Don't be discouraged- maybe you'll have better luck or like them because we always tell our girls, "everyone's taste buds are different"
