Olive Garden Breadsticks

What you'll need:

1 1/2 cups warm water (between 110 - 120 degrees F)
1 package active dry yeast
4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon salt

butter top:
1 stick of unsalted butter
2 tsp garlic salt
2 tsp salt

Directions:

Heat water between 110-115 degrees. Add yeast and a pinch of sugar to activate. Set aside.

combine flour, sugar and salt into mixer. Mix for a second. Add melted butter and yeast/water mixture.


You might have to knead the rest of the flour by hand and shape into a ball.

using a pizza cutter, but into 6 (or 8) piece of dough.


shape into bread stick form.

let rise for 45 minutes or until doubled in size.


pre-heat oven to 400 degrees and pop the bread sticks into the oven for 6 minutes. While they are cooking melt butter, garlic salt and salt. Take the rolls out and  put a coat of the butter on the rolls.



Put them back into the oven for another 6 minutes or until golden brown.

let them set for another 2 minutes and put another butter coat on top of the breads.



Verdict: Oh my God...I think I ate 4 of these for dinner. They taste so much like Olive Gardens bread sticks! Now I never need to go back :)
